Visit to the IPB Jonggol research site on Java
October 15 2024 Nahrowi and Sudrajat, with the sheep manager and the mill manager, showed the IPB Jonggol research site on Java island to Pak Wahyu from South Kalimantan and Aart vd Linden from Animal Sciences Wageningen University.
In Jonggol there is an oil palm mill which may be transformed to a test mill when funding is assured.
There is also a mature oil palm plantation.
The idea is to transform this area also in a living lab with cattle grazing in oil palm plantation. Furthermore, sowing of jack bean as cattle feed inside the plantation and on a “ fallow” land nearby, are both considered. Some unattended cattle was already roaming the area.
