RSPO released an article on its view of the circular economy.

RSPO released an article on its view of the circular economy: “A circular economy is a possible avenue to address the waste problem with its circular nature. The focus is now to be more optimistic and move towards producing higher-value biobased products from oil palm biomass waste. RSPO encourages its members to leverage this opportunity and welcomes the right partners with suitable technologies to ensure resource-efficient valorisation of biomass to establish more sustainable oil palm biomass projects.”

It is expected that RSPO will develop certification for products made from palm oil residues such as shells, EFB, but also trunks and mesocarp fibre. This will be essential for market access in the EU but also in other countries such as Japan. https://rspo.org/circular-economy-and-biomass-a-game-changer-for-the-sustainable-palm-oil-industry/
